"I appreciate the opportunities I have had through the investment club to network with friends of the college, and I am always looking to learn more about the financial industry."
I hail from Grand Rapids, Michigan, a vibrant city that lacks regular traffic jams. Growing up as a military brat, I've had the privilege of moving across the United States, experiencing diverse cultures and landscapes. My childhood instilled in me a love for exploring novelty, both in my studies and outside of the classroom.
I attend Hillsdale College because of its commitment to fostering virtue and providing a well-rounded education. Initially, I pursued a career in medicine. Summers were spent shadowing physicians and attending EMT school in preparation for a career in medicine. I dedicated myself to my studies and extracurriculars, which culminated in my acceptance into medical school. At the time, I took finance and accounting classes because I found them to be an engaging outlet from my science coursework.
I really enjoy the sense of satisfaction I get when researching securities and bonds. Lately, my interest in the stock market led me to pursue a leadership role in the investment club. I have realized through my college experience thus far that I am primarily interested in finance, though chemistry still holds a special place in my heart.
I am a relatively new financial management major, and I eagerly embrace the challenges presented by this change in career path. My diverse experiences give me a range of problem-solving abilities that I employ daily. I believe that my breadth of knowledge, my motivation, and my adaptability set me apart.
